Jamal Belahrach
Chair
Mr. Belahrach is the founding Chief Executive Officer of Manpower North Africa. With a degree in Industrial Engineering and Corporate Management and Administration from the University of Saint Denis, France, he is an expert in the fields of marketing, development, employment and entrepreneurship. Mr. Belahrach sits on the Boards of civil organizations including the French Chamber of Commerce’s Committee on Social and Human Resources in Morocco and the Center for Youth Leaders in Morocco, of which he is also the founder.
Abbad Andaloussi
Mr. Andaloussi is the President of the Al Jisr Association and Vice President of the Attijariwafa Bank Foundation. He has worked at Wafabank as CFO and as Corporate Banking manager. He has extensive community service experience at the Association Al Ikram, the Association Partenariar Ecole Enterprise, Al Jisr, Association Reseau Maroc Enreprendre, the International Baccalaureate Organization, the Moroccan Education and Employment Alliance, and University Al Akhawayn.
Omar Chaabi
Mr. Chaabi is the Executive Vice President of the Chaabi Group. He was formerly Change Management Officer at the holding company, during which time he reorganized the company's technology platform. He directed GPC, the Chaabi Group's new cardboard and paper company.
Brahim Benjelloun-Touimi
Mr. Benjelloun-Touimi has been Chief Administrative Officer of BCME Bank in charge of Human Capital and Technologies since 2004. He is also responsible for the BCME Bank Foundation for Education and the Environment, and is President of M@Finance.com, a company specializing in new technologies and online banking, Planet Finance Maroc, and the Organisation for International Solidarity, a micro-finance development initiative. He holds a Doctorate in Money, Finance and Banking from the Sorbonne.
Dr. Rachid Benmokhtar
Dr. Benmokhtar, President of Al Akhawayn University, is President of the Oversight Committee of the Royal Human Development Initiative, and a former Minister of Education. Mr. Benmokhtar began his career with IBM France, and co-founded the first Moroccan computer science and management consulting company. He is a member of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration of the United Nations, and holds a degree in aeronautical engineering.
J. Christer Elfverson
Mr. Elfverson is senior diplomatic advisor to Concordia21, a social investment group. Mr. Elfverson has devoted most of his career to the United Nations system, including as deputy to the under-secretary-general for the Iraq Programme. In cooperation with the World Health Organization, he established and managed the MENTOR Foundation, which operates internationally in the field of substance abuse prevention among young people. He served in the Swedish Foreign Service and has held executive positions with the Axel Johnson Group in Sweden, Mexico and Australia, and the Nordic American Banking Corporation in New York.
Diego Hidalgo
Mr. Hidalgo is a co-founder and member of the Board of El Pais, the leading Spanish daily newspaper. He is also the President of FRIDE (Fundacion para las Relaciones Internacionales y el Dialogo Exterior), founding member and Senior Fellow of the Gorbachev Foundation of North America (GFNA), and the Board of Directors of the Confederacion Espanola de Fundaciones, as well as an active member of the Club of Rome and its Board of Governors. He is also a Member of the Executive Committee of the Club of Madrid and Trustee of the Toledo International Centre for Peace. He holds the Order of Gran Cruz de la Orden del Merito Civil.
Ambassador Mokhtar Lamani
Ambassador Lamani is International Development Research Center (IDRC) Senior Visiting Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI). He served as Special Representative of the Arab League in Iraq, appointed by the Council of Arab Ministers of Foreign Affairs in 2006. From 1998 to 2004, he served as the Permanent Observer of the Organization of Islamic Conference to the United Nations. He has had a distinguished career in international diplomacy, holding several positions with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States. He has a Masters in Law from Hassan II University in Casablanca, Morocco and a Masters in European Studies from the University Catholique de Louvain in Belgium.
Brahim Slaoui
Mr. Slaoui is chairman and general manager of Mafoder, an international metal foundry, and founder of the Moroccan chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization. He is a member of Les Cercles de Progrès, a network for diversity of viewpoints and personalities. Mr. Slaoui holds degrees in finance and business administration from Université Paris Dauphine and Columbia University.
Ronald Bruder
Founder & CEO of EFE
Mr. Bruder was a serial entrepreneur mainly focused on real estate development before he founded EFE – to which he now devotes all of his professional time. Mr. Bruder also founded companies in the oil, medical technology, and travel industries. In 1977, he founded The Brookhill Group which owns and manages properties throughout the US. In 1990, Brookhill began acquiring environmentally contaminated properties, by inventing a new methodology to redevelop those properties that enabled the company to limit the risk associated with environmental clean-up costs. Mr. Bruder holds a Bachelors degree from Adelphi University in Economics, a Master's degree in Business Administration / Finance from New York University, and a Post Master's degree in Accounting & Taxation from Iona College.
Jamie McAuliffe
President of EFE
Mr. McAuliffe has two decades of experience in leadership roles in both the nonprofit and business sectors. Most recently, Jamie served as Portfolio Manager at the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation. Jamie has also worked as a small and medium-sized business consultant at OTF Group in Brazil and as a leader of social entrepreneurs at Ashoka Innovators for the Public. Between receiving his BA in Philosophy from Georgetown University and his MA in International Economics from John Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies, Jamie served as an inner-city school teacher for Teach for America.
Dr. Mohammed Barkaoui
Dr. Barkaoui is President of Hassan II University in Casablanca. He was Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University Badji Mokhtar, Annaba, Algeria. In 2000–2001 he was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Department of International Relations at Boston University.
Younes Benjelloun
Mr. Benjelloun is President and Executive Administrator of Casablanca Financial Group (CFG). He was previously President of CFG Markets. He has been President of the Moroccan Association of Financial Companies, and has served on boards for several regulatory organizations.
José Ignacio García Muniozguren
Mr. Garcia is Managing Partner of the Garrigues Abogados & Asesores Tributarios law firm in Morocco, EFE Maroc’s pro bono counsel. Garrigues is one of Spain’s premiere law firms and the largest law firm on continental Europe. Specializing in international tax law, Mr. Garcia is a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
Stephen Guyer
Mr. Guyer is Country Advisor to the Moroccan Education and Employment Alliance. He is president of TGI Trade and Consulting in Rabat.
Saloua Karkri Belkeziz
Ms. Karkri-Belkeziz is Founder and Honorary President of the National Association of Women Executives in Morocco (AFEM). She is CEO of GFI Maroc, an IT company that she founded in 1987 as Professional Systems. In 2002, Ms. Karkri-Belkeziz won the International Businesswoman of the Year award from L’Express (France). In 2004, she was appointed to the Order of the Chevalier by H.M. King Mohammed VI. Ms. Karkri-Belkeziz is running for Parliament in Morocco’s September elections.
Dr. Benson P. Shapiro, Chair
Dr. Shapiro is the Malcolm P. McNair Professor of Marketing Emeritus at the Harvard Business School. Dr. Shapiro continues to teach at Harvard, has served as a consultant to over 300 companies, and has participated in more than 160 executive education programs for corporations and associations. He is an authority on marketing strategy and sales management, and the author, co-author, or editor of 14 books and 19 Harvard Business Review articles. Dr. Shapiro holds a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Michigan, and Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Business Administration degrees from Harvard University.
Dr. Frank V. Cespedes
Dr. Cespedes teaches at Harvard Business School and is President of FVC Associates, a Boston-based firm that delivers training and advisory services in areas related to strategy, leadership, and organization. For 12 years, he was a Managing Partner at The Center for Executive Development (CED), a firm that helps companies utilize management development as a strategic tool to achieve results. Mr. Cespedes taught at Harvard Business School for 15 years, specializing in marketing, sales, organizational design and strategy implementation, and he continues to teach there as a Senior Lecturer. He has consulted and worked with companies in professional services, software, manufacturing, consumer goods, health care, retailing, and banking. Mr. Cespedes and his firm have designed and delivered planning, corporate education, and action learning programs for firms in North and South America, Europe, and Asia. He is the author of six book and more than 40 case studies. Dr. Cespedes holds a Bachelor’s degree from the City College of New York, Master of Science from M.I.T., and Ph.D. from Cornell University.
Dr. Skander Esseghaier
Dr. Esseghaier is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Koç University in Istanbul. His expertise lies in pricing and personalization, and his work in these areas has been published in multiple journals. He was previously on the faculty at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and the Stern School of Business at New York University, and was a visiting faculty member at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and INSEAD, France. Dr. Esseghaier holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from the Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Economique, Paris, a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics, and a Ph. D. in Marketing from Columbia University, New York.
Alston Gardner
Mr. Gardner is an Adjunct Professor in the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina. Recognized as a thought leader on sales force issues, Mr. Gardner has written articles for multiple journals. He is a partner in Fulcrum Ventures, an Atlanta-based private equity firm, and serves on several Boards of Directors. Mr. Gardner was the founder and CEO of OnTarget, Inc., one of the largest sales training firms in the world, prior to its sale to Siebel Systems. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina and has attended executive programs at Harvard Business School, Stanford University, University of Virginia, and the Aspen Institute.
Nawfal Fassi-Fihri

Nawfal Fassi-Fihri has had extensive experience in aspects of project management including marketing, financial analysis, and project development. Prior to joining EFE, he worked as a real estate developer, managing three construction projects in Casablanca. He also served as Director in organizations such as Global Loop Enterprises, Inc. of Houston, Texas, and Buro Zone SARL in Casablanca. Mr. Fassi-Fihri received his dual Master of Business degree from Drexel University.
Ahmed Laafifi

Dr. Ahmed Laafifi has over 20 years of experience as a human resources trainer, working with nearly forty international and Moroccan companies in fields including industry, tourism, transport, finance, and public administration. He is a former professor of several business schools, former teacher at the Casablanca American School, participant in USAID trainings of trainers, and graduate of the University of Paris-Sorbonne.
Amine Bakkali

Before joining EFE, Mr. Bakkali spent two years with a microfinance foundation training youth to become businesspeople and entrepreneurs. He has also worked as a trade supervisor in the private sector, and has been trained in surveying, finance, management, and business plan elaboration. Mr. Bakkali graduated from the National School of Business and Management in Settat, with a degree in marketing.
Mohcine Hafid

Mr. Hafid holds a Masters degree in Cultural Mediation from Mohamed V University in Rabat. In parallel with his studies, Mr. Hafid contributed to the administration and coordination of local projects, including with UNESCO in Rabat.
Youssef Zanibi
Administrative Assistant
Prior to joining EFE-Maroc, Mr. Zanibi worked in the tourism sector, managing and marketing the rental of riads and villas throughout Morocco. Having trained in Morocco and the United Kingdom, he has also worked as a reservations and office manager in Marrakech and Casablanca. Mr. Zanibi holds a Master's degree from the High Institute of Management in Casablanca, and a Bachelor’s degree from Hassan II University.
