Teacher Training and Job Placement Program



Overview

To establish a successful model for teacher training in life skills and interactive, application-based learning linked to market needs, EFE has introduced an innovative, theme-based, problem-solving and critical thinking program for teachers. The program aims to reduce unemployment, by increasing retention of entry-level teachers through training in new teaching techniques.

Curriculum

The training delivery method is designed to be highly interactive, including learning activities and simulations. Teachers acquire skills in:

  • Classroom Management
  • Student Behavior Management
  • Designing Coherent Instructions
  • Designing Interdisciplinary Mapping Techniques

Duration

Customized for two months of training.

Pedagogy

Delivered in a 60-hour Teacher Training module with elements of EFE's Workplace Success curriculum and a 180-hour teacher professional development module, which includes a 20-hour module on using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Education.

Student Profile

Unemployed university graduates with educational backgrounds in Arabic, English, Information Technology, and Science.

Development

The Teacher Training course structure was developed and customized in collaboration with private schools at which the program's graduates are employed.
