Land Surveying Training and Job-Placement Program



Overview

With increased development in the Middle East and North Africa region, skilled land surveyors are in high demand. To meet this need, EFE has launched a Land Surveying Training and Job-Placement Program to train unemployed engineering and geology graduates to work as land surveyors. Graduates acquire the technical and professional skills needed to ensure that land surveying projects are completed accordingly.

Curriculum

The Land Surveying program curriculum outline comprises practical and theoretical training, including:

  • Applied Theory and Physical Surveying Skills
  • Theodolite, Total Station, and GIS Applications
  • Application of Contours
  • Calculations and Drawing Skills

Duration

Customized for five months of training

Pedagogy

Delivered in two modules: Intensive Workplace Success training (48 hours) and the Land Surveying curriculum (400 hours). Students commit to participating in the required field training twice per week to apply lessons learned in the theoretical lectures.

Student Profile

From 22 to 24 years old; Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Geology/Mineralogy.

Trainers

Experienced and highly qualified Land Surveying and GIS system trainers deliver both theoretical and practical training as well as field training. EFE Workplace Success trainers, trained and qualified at the EFE Training of Trainers, deliver the soft skills training.

Development

The Land Surveying course structure was developed and customized in collaboration with Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), who is the main employer of the program's graduates.
