EFE has developed a unique approach to job training for unemployed youth in the Middle East and North Africa: we partner with businesses who have the jobs.
Industries looking to compete in the global economy need workers with a strong work ethic, entrepreneurial mindset and world-class professional and technical training. However, educational systems in the region often fail to provide their graduates with marketable skills. There is a severe shortage of first-rate professional and technical schools, and youth without wealth and connections do not have access to the best training.
EFE believes that the best way to match talented young people with the thousands of jobs that need skilled workers is to enlist the private sector in curriculum development.
Our MethodologyWe recruit students through local NGOs, professional and community organizations, advertisements, and postings at university campuses.
We work with local businesses, government and educational leaders to determine and teach the specific skills that companies needs.
We then place our graduates directly into the jobs for which they were trained.
EFE also aims to inspire change in the educational systems of the region, by setting an example of practical training in partnership with employers that produces job-ready graduates who are promptly employed. We hope that the success of our programs will inspire more widespread adoption of the market-driven model that we are pioneering in the region.
