Ronald Bruder
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Prior to creating EFE – to which he now devotes all of his professional time – Mr. Bruder was a serial entrepreneur mainly focused on real estate development. Mr. Bruder also founded companies in the oil, medical technology, and travel industries. In 1977, he founded The Brookhill Group which owns and manages properties throughout the US. In 1990, Brookhill began acquiring environmentally contaminated properties, by inventing a new methodology to redevelop those properties that enabled the company to limit the risk associated with environmental clean-up costs. Mr. Bruder holds a Bachelors degree from Adelphi University in Economics, a Master's degree in Business Administration / Finance from New York University, and a Post Master's degree in Accounting & Taxation from Iona College.
Jamie McAuliffe
President
Jamie McAuliffe has two decades of experience in leadership roles in both the nonprofit and business sectors. Most recently, Jamie served as Portfolio Manager at the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation. Jamie has also worked as a small and medium-sized business consultant at OTF Group in Brazil and as a leader of social entrepreneurs at Ashoka Innovators for the Public. Between receiving his BA in Philosophy from Georgetown University and his MA in International Economics from John Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies, Jamie served as an inner-city school teacher for Teach for America.
Brad Kushner
Chief Financial Officer
Brad Kushner has been the C.P.A. and controller of The Brookhill Group for 14 years.
Jasmine Nahhas di Florio
Vice President
Prior to joining EFE, Jasmine Nahhas di Florio was an international corporate lawyer at David Polk & Wardwell and an attorney at the U.S. Treasury Department. She has experience implementing programs for private donors in Afghanistan and building public-private partnerships with the United Nations Fund for International Partnerships (UNFIP). A Rhodes Scholar and Fulbright Scholar, Jasmine is a graduate of the University of Alberta, Oxford University and Harvard Law School.
Amir Moghadam
Senior Educational Advisor
Dr. Amir Moghadam is the founder and CEO of MaxKnowledge, the leading training company for the career college sector of higher education. Dr. Moghadam has over 20 years of experience in career education, serving in many capacities including Professor, Director of Education, Academic Dean, Director of Student Affairs, Campus Director, and College President. Dr. Moghadam has worked extensively as a training consultant in South East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. His accomplishments have been recognized in Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who in the World. He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Cambridge at the age of 22.
Susan Chen
Office Manager
Before joining EFE, Susan Chen served as a Practice Assistant for the law firms of Thelen LLP and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and East Asian Languages, Literatures, and Cultures with a concentration in Mandarin Chinese.
Melissa Casey
Communications Officer
Prior to joining EFE, Melissa Casey worked in marketing for Euro RSCG 4D Impact and for Proinfancia, a not-for-profit organization offering assistance to children and families infected or affected by HIV/AIDS in the Dominican Republic. Melissa holds a BA in Arabic and Spanish from Georgetown University and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate from Agnes Scott College. She spent a year studying at the American University of Cairo in Egypt. She is proficient in Arabic, French, Italian and Spanish and has also studied Mandarin Chinese and Russian.
Nidhi C. Patel
Senior Country Officer for Jordan & Palestine
Nidhi Patel has worked in education and microfinance in Africa as well as within various non-profit organizations nationally. She has consulted for the Chicago and District of Columbia public school systems as well as international NGOs. She has an undergraduate degree from The University of Chicago as well as an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Abeer Shubassi
Senior Country Officer for Morocco & Yemen
Abeer Shubassi is finishing her PhD in Education and International Human Rights Law at the University of Toronto. She holds an MA in Education, specializing in Philosophy of Education and Policy Studies in Education, and an honors BA in Political Science and Ethics, Law and Society, both also from the University of Toronto. She has worked on a Human Rights Training Needs Assessment project for the Iraqi Ministry of Human Rights in the UK and Jordan, and has interned with UNDP-USA in Washington, D.C.
Nassrin El-Gosi
Country Officer for Jordan & Palestine
Before joining EFE, Nassrin El-Gosi worked with the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution, as well as with the Arab Program for Human Rights Activists in Egypt. While in Egypt, Ms. El-Gosi studied at the American University in Cairo. She graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South with a Bachelor of Science degree in International and Global Studies and Chemistry.
Sarah Little
Country Officer for Morocco & Yemen
Before joining EFE, Sarah Little worked for SOS Children’s Villages, a Washington, D.C.-based international non-profit organization, and for the Michigan State University Office of Study Abroad as a student adviser. She also interned for a non-profit, humanitarian organization called Secours Populaire Francais in Paris, France, where she worked mostly with French immigrants from the Middle East and North Africa. Sarah attended Michigan State University and holds a B.A. in International Relations with specializations in Muslim Studies and Western European Studies.
Pia Saunders
Monitoring & Evaluations Officer
Pia Saunders joins EFE as Global Coordinator for Monitoring and Evaluation. She has a Masters in Public Administration with a specialization in International Development from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service, New York University. Ms. Saunders has worked in Accra, Ghana and Vieques, Puerto Rico. She holds a BA in International Studies from The Johns Hopkins University.
